AZ-802T00-A: Administer Windows Server

The objective of the course is to provide IT professionals with the knowledge and practical skills required to deploy, manage, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows Server workloads in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Those who have completed the training:

  • deploy and manage Active Directory Domain Services and Windows Server instances in on-premises and hybrid environments;
  • configure and manage virtual machines, networking, storage, and file services;
  • apply Windows Server security hardening and hybrid management solutions;
  • monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server environments using appropriate administrative tools and services.

Target audience and prior knowledge (Prerequisites): The course is intended for Windows Server administrators who deploy, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Windows Server workloads in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments. Participants should have experience administering Windows Server and be familiar with Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), networking, storage, Hyper-V, Windows Admin Center, and PowerShell. Familiarity with Azure services and hybrid administration is recommended.

Teaching aids: A computer with a stable internet connection and permissions to access the required training environments and configure applications. Participants may use a personal computer by prior agreement with the training provider. A suitable computer can be rented from BCS Training by prior arrangement.

  • Deploy and manage Active Directory Domain Services
  • Manage Windows Server instances and workloads in a hybrid environment
  • Manage Hyper-V and Azure virtual machines
  • Implement and manage on-premises and hybrid networking infrastructure
  • Manage storage and file services
  • Harden and secure Windows Server environments
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Windows Server environments
  • Use Windows Admin Center, PowerShell, Azure Arc, Azure Monitor, Azure Update Manager, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud

Learning methods: Instructor-led lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on practical exercises in a training environment. Training may be delivered in a classroom or online.

Assessment method: Achievement of the learning outcomes is assessed through feedback-based practical exercises completed during the training.

Graduation Criteria: A participant receives a certificate of completion after participating in the training and successfully completing the required practical exercises. Participants who do not achieve the learning outcomes may receive a certificate of attendance upon request.

  • Free Microsoft certification exam within the period of 6 months after finishing the course.
