“Choose IT!” is an adult retraining program, designed to provide participants with the initial skills of a software developer. Vali IT! is a unique project that includes trainees with a completed higher education and required work experience, but who have not studied IT or worked in the ICT sector. The participants will receive basic skills in software development during a free 3.5 month-long programme.
500 new software developers for the ICT sector are trained during this 4 year-long programme. One training cycle is 3.5 months long out of which 6 weeks is intensive class training and 8 weeks is an internship in an ICT company. The goal of the retraining program is to give participants basic level knowledge of software development. The students who have successfully finished the course are able to start work at a software development company or in an organization as junior software developers. Students are taught to code in .net and java languages.
The project is funded through the European Social Fund grant scheme “Enhancing Digital Literacy”.
